Non-life post

It's been a while since I last posted something that wasn't about my life, and even longer since I last posted about books, I think. This is definitely partly because I have not been reading much. When I wrote until here, I realised I had posted about Ancillary Justice trilogy before. But I just borrowed Provenance, and so I am reminded again of it.

Anyway, when I meet new people in the army and eventually discuss books, I always recommend the Hitchhiker and the Ancillary Justice series, and recently I'm even more drawn towards recommending Ancillary Justice. Even now, thinking about the book makes me feel a certain way, like a certain attraction towards the main character, because that person is kind of very amazing.

And I think I will start becoming a bit more free, and I've witnessed my language (if not all academic things) standards falling rather rapidly, so I want to ease back into reading etc., beginning with this other Ann Leckie set in the same universe and hopefully it will be great.

This post ended up becoming very messy, oh well.

Wow it's almost been a year

Only remembered this blog today after chatting to a friend about personal life stuff. Quite a large portion of it was spent in the army since April, where I simultaneously did a lot of things yet not much meaningful ones. Maybe I will detail this thought another time. University applications generally went well, scholarship applications generally went badly, I've done kind of well in the army so far but with doing well comes added eyes and stresses on me, which I guess builds character and experience for future work/applications, but is also really scary. Just entered my actual unit yesterday and still in the induction programme. I hope this goes well, along with the rest of my NS time (and future life etc. etc.). Really got to get a scholarship next year. Good luck to me for all the things on my plate right now I guess, and I hope to have the will and the strength to juggle them well and do them well and get good results in them. It will be tough but I have hopes that things will come together when I need it to.

Also looks like there are some formatting changes to the titling of posts. Oh wait they look like they were there since a few posts ago.

I hope to update more often too, for some reason.
